Bill Beigel In The News![]() Pomona Valley Genealogical Society PVGS January 10, 2009 Meeting to Feature William Beigel Bill Beigel, a professional World War II researcher, will be speaking to us about finding records of those who were wounded or POWs in WWII and Korea. Due to war time secrecy and other concerns, casualty information was rarely provided to families during WWII. A terse “your son is Missing in Action over France” or “your father was in the Philippines” was all the information most ever received. Beigel, of Torrance, has appeared on “Fox and Friends” and “Life and Times” on television and in numerous periodicals. He says the level of detail and specificity provided in the files of military agencies is “staggering.” The use of a bewildering array of acronyms and abbreviations is in the files. He says a prospective client once called him and said he received a file from the Air Force and couldn’t make sense of it “What is RMC, or EUS, or DED? For the record, RMC is Returned to Military Control, EUS is Evacuated to the United States and DED is Presumed Dead. Beigel finds answers to the questions friends and relatives have been asking for over 60 years. PVGS looks forward to hearing from Mr. Beigel. |
